Grant Cushing, President

Grant is President and founder of Brownfield Restoration Group (BRG). He directs overall business operations, which includes the coordination of resources for the management, acquisition and disposition of distressed properties. He coordinates activities with joint venture partners including, real estate investment decisions, legal structures, and financing and portfolio management activities. In addition, he works with both corporate and outside counsel to coordinate legal issues related to real estate and environmental management.

Grant has been instrumental in the successful transfer of more than 100 environmentally distressed properties since 1994. His experience in environmental risk management, environmental insurance, and brownfield transactions has allowed BRG and its partners to become national leaders in the acquisition of environmentally challenging properties.

Grant has a Bachelor’s degree with Honors from Middlebury College and a Master of Science degree from State University of New York at Albany.

David Simmons, PE, Senior Environmental Manager

Dave provides senior technical leadership and project management for all environmental aspects associated with BRG projects. In this capacity, he manages due diligence during the acquisition phase and ensures that sound technical and regulatory approaches are employed after the acquisition of properties. He is also responsible for ensuring that all environmental projects are completed within established schedules and budgets.

Dave has seventeen years professional experience in providing environmental engineering and compliance services to industrial and government clients. Prior to joining BRG, Mr. Simmons worked for a large multinational environmental consulting and engineering firm. He has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dave is a Professional Engineer registered in the State of Pennsylvania.

Chris Herrmann, PE, Asset Manager

Chris provides senior technical leadership and asset management for all acquisition and divestment activities. He is responsible for the risk management, financial modeling, contract review and engineering due diligence during the acquisition process. He is responsible for insuring that comprehensive insurance coverage is included in the risk management portfolio, ensures that the economics of the transactions are beneficial to both BRG and its joint venture partners and also reviews the economic conditions of redevelopment. After acquisition, he oversees all asset management activities including property expenses, maintenance, insurance, management and resale of properties.

Chris has 17 years of consulting engineering and construction experience. He has worked for several large consulting engineering firms in engineering, project management and department management positions. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from Syracuse University graduating Chi Epsilon and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester where he graduated Beta Gamma Sigma.

Chris is a Professional Engineer registered in the State of New York.

Gina Sarkis, Chief Financial Officer

Gina is co-founder of Brownfield Restoration Group (BRG). Serving as Chief Financial Officer, she oversees the company’s general and administrative business management functions including serving as the financial controller. Additionally, she oversees corporate counsel, legal activities, risk management, human resource management, vendor management, corporate communications, and other administrative activities related to the company’s day-to-day operations and individual real estate acquisitions.

Gina has a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.
